8 Set a password policy

Our password policy we had to set the account lockout policy to 3 attempts and 30 minutes lock out time. In the Group policy management, right click the Default Domain Policy, which applies to everyone, and click edit.

Then a new window pops up, the Group Policy Management Editor. Next I had to find where to alter password policies. The editor is hard to navigate, it has no logical order.

Once found, I was able to set the account lockout threshold by right clicking and going to properties. 

I was now able to set the lockout to 3 invalid attempts.

When i hit OK suggestion window came up offering to automatically change the other settings. Considering it was my next step i clicked OK.

When finished you can see in the window that the three parameters have set values now.
